Meet the Coaches

Penelope Freedman

Penelope Freedman, Xterra Trail Running 3rd place World Champion and founder of raw foods company Kenchuto Bliss, has been running and racing on the trails of Steamboat Springs for the last nine years.  She is a competitive athlete in a multitude of sports and has coached professionally for the last ten years. Penelope is the founder of Steamboat Trail Running Camp and will be coaching the runs and leading the Raw Foods workshop.

Charlie Chase

Charlie’s athletic background is rooted in strength training and yoga. Over the past thirty-plus years he has trained a variety of people, from musicians to professional and nationally ranked athletes. Being an iPEC Certified Health and Wellness Coach, an Energy Leadership Coach, and a Life Coach has enabled him to help each individual with their personal growth. Spiritual growth and physical fitness are the cornerstone of Charlies work with his clients. Creating a place where people of all levels, beginner to expert, can come to help and support each other while meeting or going beyond their dreams is his passion! Charlie is the owner and trainer of Genetic Synergy. He will be leading the Strength and Conditioning workshop.

Cinthy Carson

Cinthy brings decades of PT experience to the camp and will lead the Functional Movement workshop. This workshop will include film analysis of gait and posture on the track sat Steamboat Springs High School.

Narissa Wild

We run trails to connect with the natural world around us and to gain a sense of calm and understanding. Narissa will be leading the Earthing Yoga workshop which will explore our connections to the natural world while addressing some important strengths within the different muscles required for this exploration. She currently teaches yoga through Rakta Yoga Studio in Steamboat Springs.

Greer Van Dyck

Greer holds an MA in Counseling and Psychology. She will be leading Reaching Your Full Potential workshop. During this workshop, Greer will discuss the impact of mental strength on physical exercise and sports as it pertains to motivation, values and goal setting. She is the owner of Windrose Coaching and Mentoring.

Chelsea Keefer

Chelsea was born and raised in the great state of Utah, surrounded by natural gems like the Great Salt Lake and Zion National Park. She spent her youth witnessing Utah grow and change, and is an enthusiastic contributor to Salt Lake City’s blossoming art community as a Soloist at Ballet West. Chelsea will be leading the Meditation and Yoga Nidra.

Doug Kenyon

After undergraduate studies in Biology and Chemistry Dr Kenyon enrolled at Northwestern College of Chiropractic graduating in 1986. He practiced for several years in Petersburg, Alaska before relocating to Colorado. He has lived in the Yampa Valley with his wife and son since 2005. Doug will be leading the Holistic Health workshop. He is the owner of Yampa Valley Chiropractic.

Justin Reiter

Justin is an American snowboard coach and former snowboarder. He won a silver medal in the parallel slalom at the 2013 FIS Snowboarding World Championships. He is also a ten-time national champion and was selected for the 2014 Winter Olympics, where he was the only American male to compete in the parallel slalom and parallel giant slalom.
